Our Annual camping, the 12th year running. How did it start. Why did it start? As to when this all started, you may want to ask one of the board members. He's well known for his big heart and his big smile. He knows everybody and everybody knows him. A salute to Uncle Cheoun for starting something that has brought together hundreds of families together year after year. Who is this Uncle Cheoun? Okay, a sneak peak...

You can blame Uncle Cheoun for all the work that fellow volunteers have to do to prepare and organize this event year after year for the last 12 years. WHY DO WE DO IT? Well, let me ask how often do you spend quality time with family and friends and even complete strangers? Not too often. This event is intended to bring people together from all shapes, size, and colors. This camping event encourages family and friends to take a break from all the craiziness of the day to day hassels and stresses. Spend time with your loved ones. Spend time with friends, strangers, or even by yourself if you wish. You will the camp looking forward to the next year.
We do apologize for those who express concerns with the parking situation. Yes, indeed you have to hike about 10 minutes to get to your car. We hope that you understand that we want to ensure the safety of every camper. Vehicles must be parked at designated areas so that emergency vehicles could come and go without issues. Most of our volunteer staffs with a few exceptions did not park near the lodge. There were some early arrivals that were fortunate enough to grab some of the closer parking spaces. We hope that the parking space is a VERY SMALL concern and that you spend your time enjoying it with your family and friends instead. This is only once a year event of which much effort is put into planning and organizing. We are thankful and quite fortunate for the privilege to use such a beautiful facility.
We would like to hear your feedback and suggestions to make it better the next time. If you do have suggestions, please send your feedback to feedback@cacoregon.org. We shall improve on our mistakes and will make it better the next time. Thank you for bringing your family and friends to join us for another year. Let us make it many more years.
Sincerely,
Cambodian-American Community of Oregon
